So … I’m a little late with my Easter post (like an entire month) – oops! There has been so much going on.
We started celebrating Easter on Thursday… we took snacks to daycare and the kids even got to dye and decorate eggs. Amy was smart – she had the older kids dye their eggs before Barrett got there so she could watch him closely – he’s tricky!
He was all about dying his eggs and took it very serious as you can see. 🙂 I got to stay and watch for a bit…. so precious to watch all of the kids be so excied!
Then when we got home that night we spent several hours in the front yard throwing our plastic Easter eggs and then finding them all – over and over again. I thought maybe I was preparing him for my mom’s work egg hunt on Friday.
However he quickly proved me wrong. He had cousins and family at the PTCI egg hunt – but he was not interested in any of them – or the eggs at first. But then he perked up a little and realized what was going on. He dumped out his bucket a couple of times… and had to pick all of his eggs back up – but he got a dollar in one of them so that was a bonus!
We tried to get a good picture of all the boys but they weren’t havin it…
Then, on Sunday morning Barr got to check out what the Easter bunny got him. He was so excited – and we had candy for breakfast before church! 🙂
Then we headed to church and Meme’s to eat. Barrett hunted a few eggs in the house too!
It was pretty chilly and rainy and Barr was getting tired so we went home after lunch for a nap. Then, after he woke up and it wasn’t so nasty outside we went to Hoot and Honey’s house to hunt some eggs outside.
I know he was wondering what everyone’s obsession with picking up those dang plastic eggs was… he was looking at us like we were crazy by the end of the day – and he just wanted the “num num”(candy) that he knew Honey put in EVERY SINGLE ONE.
He looked so handsome I just wanted to squeeze him!
Sometimes I’m a little jealous of all the fun Barrett and the other kids get to have at Amy’s. I mean seriously.. who wouldn’t want to play all day? 🙂
and they are so funny together….
and Amy still sends me snapchats sometimes – the highlight of my day! Barrett is so good at doing what he is supposed to for these filters – hilarious!
I know I’m a little biased… but he seriously could not be any more precious!
Sometimes it’s a love hate relationship with his daycare buds… but he asks for them all weekend!
I was always told that being a mother brings out emotions in you that you didn’t know you had – and so many all at the same time. I have come to know that this could not be any more accurate when describing motherhood. Barrett makes me proud, happy, excited, anxious, nervous, scared, mad, sad, and so many other emotions all day every day. Being his mommy is a love I never knew I could feel or experience. There are days when leaving him at daycare physically hurts my heart – not because he doesn’t want to be there – he does; but some days, when I have to go to work, I want nothing more than to stay home to cuddle and play with my baby boy (who by the way is not a baby anymore). 🙁 Then, other days it’s nearly all I can do to get out our door and in Amy’s without a meltdown. He brings so much joy to Isaac and I’s lives but pushes so many buttons. He is precious, ornery, sweet, happy, energetic, stubborn, mischievous, and loving all at the same time. He knows just when to turn on the charm to try to stay out of trouble and when he knows he is about to be in trouble he has figured out just the look to give me to melt my heart.
Barrett loves to do boy stuff with his daddy…. like golf
fly RC planes and quads over fields….
and mow….
I love getting sweet pictures or snapchats from my boys while they are out playing 🙂
or while they are hanging out at home
Life is so much fun with this little man in it….
He adores his Uncle B – and likes to watch him play the guitar and sing – and of course he always needs a turn…
and if I haven’t mentioned it before – he is quite the dare devil. This kid seriously has no fear. He will dive off of anything, flip off of the couch, pull things off counters on himself – you name it – he will do it. That being said… we were in the garage one day and he pulled a metal pipe over on himself… it mostly went to the side of him but apparently scraped against his ear pretty hard. I was standing right beside him and immediately picked him up – his ear was black and blue and swelled up. I honestly thought it might explode. We put some ice on it and it went down quickly, but the bruising was still there a week later. Poor little man…. he kept telling me “my ear hurts.” So sad… But he is tough! He just likes a little sweet talking and loving every now and then. These pictures don’t really even do it justice.. it was NASTY. But…. on to the next thing! 🙂
He also proceeded to put his hand/arm in the speaker by our TV the next day. He has hidden “pacis” in there since he was little, but clearly his hand/arm has grown recently and IT GOT STUCK in the speaker. Once again, mom freaks out… Luckily Isaac was able to get it out – but I was already imagining having to take apart the speaker to get my son’s hand/arm out of it. Give me a break son!! 🙂
