We had a good pioneer days despite Barrett not feeling very well for most of it. He had some sort of virus that caused tons of sores in his mouth and sores on his legs and arms. He has eczema, so the sores from the virus just exacerbated it. Poor baby. I was so excited for him to experience his first pioneer days when he could actually enjoy it and know what was going on.
He has decided he loves horses.. He looks at pictures of them on my phone or his kindle for hours, but he had never been up close to or ridden one until a couple of weekends ago when Kandi, a friend of ours,  let him go for a ride. He loved it.

So… I was SO excited for him to go to the rodeo and see the horses in the parade, and get candy, and all of that! But… Life has a way of throwing wrenches in our plans and that it did! After a small meltdown on my part, we made the best of it and participated when we could. He was no longer contagious; but, he had those nasty sores in his mouth so he couldn’t eat or drink and wouldn’t swallow. So that made things a little difficult.

We rode a couple of rides at the carnival but he wasn’t into it.

He got to come to the Pioneer Day party at Meme and Pa’s for a little while before he went home to nap… He was a trooper.
Then, we went to the rodeo Saturday night. It took him a bit to get into it but then he didn’t want anything getting in his way of seeing.

We tried the rodeo again Sunday afternoon, but it was right at nap time and he couldn’t hang.

I am so glad this precious baby boy is feeling better… It’s no fun when he’s down!
