One of my favorite parts of the holiday season is the many opportunities to give. I love that there are always new opportunities but I especially love the ones that have been around for years and become tradition. Although many of these charities/giving opportunities might look a little different this year, I hope they still go on and as many – or more – families receive the love of Christ through his followers as in years past.

This week we put together some boxes for Operation Christmas Child by Samaritan’s Purse. This was such a fun way to spend time with my babies while we did something nice for someone else. I hadn’t heard about this particular charity before, but when I read about it I knew it would be a great one for our family to participate in.

We went to the store to gather the items, made notes to send with them, packed the boxes, and will drop them off at the drop off site (you can find a list of them here) this week during National Collection Week. Their website provides a List of Suggested Gifts to include for various age groups which is super helpful. And printables to include are also available to order on the website. They are currently back-ordered, however, so we made our own notes to send in our shoeboxes. You can also donate $9 and receive a Follow Your Box label for your box so you can Use the Lookup Tool and see what country your box travels to – so fun for the kids!

If you’d rather Build A Shoebox Online you can do that too! Samaritan’s Purse has made it so easy to participate even during these crazy pandemic times.

I hope that by helping my littles learn not only to give but also to teach others about God at a young age they will continue to do so as they grow up.
