Barrett had a great 2nd birthdayโฆ weekend! Iโm creating a monster โ I get a whole week for my birthday so Iโm showinโ him what thatโs like. He was so good โ and he was so excited for โhis birthdayโ and โhis partyโ! Heโs gonna grow up to love his birthday as much as I love mine! ๐
He ran and played and didnโt really have time to stop for cupcakes or presents. He didโฆ but he couldnโt wait to get back out there to run and play some more. Seeing him have that much fun on his special day made this mommyโs heart happy.
I cannot believe that it has already been two years since we first met this precious little boy. He melts my heart and makes me smile every day.
2 Year stats:Knows his alphabet and numerous songs, Is being stubborn about learning his colors, Can count to at least 20, Loves to sing, โhold mommy,โ golf, drive his car, and play ps3 football with daddy, play games on his kindle, eat M&Ms, play with the puppies, be outside, swim, play catch, and pretty much anything outside.
He is starting to potty in the potty some… when he wants to. I know he is only 2 and he is a boy, so I am not pushing it yet… but if he asks we take him. Hopefully this progresses fairly soon. It would be so nice not to have two children in diapers come October! ๐
We go to the doctor for his 2 year checkup the first part of August so we will get official height and weight then….
After his party, he had to slide a few times …. whatever the birthday boy wants!

Then on his actual birthday – he got to pick what he wore. He didn’t care about much, but he definitely wanted to wear his boots. Ms. Amy took the kids to the splash pad – and Barrett took cupcakes to daycare!
Then, that evening he snuggled with mommy, mowed the yard with daddy, and played outside with his new toys. This little man is so loved!
Barrett has started saying some of the funniest stuff. A few of my favorites (or not so favorites) are:
When he calls Isaac “babe” – because that’s what I call him… so, this morning he asked me “where’s babe?” I said “huh??” and he said “where Isaac is?” I said “you mean daddy?” he said “umm… yes!” with the orneriest smile on his face and then giggled and giggled. He thinks he is about as funny as I think I am sometimes… ๐
When he says “I wanna hode (hold) you momma.”This one gets me… it is my very favorite and it melts my heart every time.ย
He has started telling me he wants things “NOW.”I’m sure he’s just repeating what he hears because I know I say “Barrett, pick that up, now.”or “Barrett, please do what mommy said, now.” But oh my… he will hand me his cup and say “I want juice, NOW!” If you know me very well you’ll know that I don’t get him juice when he says it like that. It usually takes a few tries, but he eventually gets it right … so I get him some juice. ๐
He also tells me “no, you do it.” SO not funny… but I can see the wheels turning and he is just trying to get a rise out of me. I try really hard not to play into his games… so when I tell him to pick up his toys so we can go to bed, and he tells me “no, you do it” I have to work to remain calm. Usually he smiles that ornery little smile and then proceeds to pick up his toys…. after getting “the look” from me of course! ๐
